It is necessary to revise the EXIM policy to allow Beef Exports

A recent recommendation of the India’s working group on animal husbandry and Dairy for 12th five year plan may put the UPA Govt. in a fresh trouble. The issue is related to Beef Exports. The export of Beef is banned in India since last 63 years. But the working group has recommended the congress led UPA Govt. to review its policy and lift this existing ban. It says ” It is necessary to revise the EXIM policy to allow Beef Exports.”

This has irked not only the right wing NGOs in the country but also the Animal Rights activists and opposition parties as well. The BJP, main opposition party in the centre has strongly opposed this recommendation and said ”such attack on our culture will never be allowed.”
