Bhubaneswar: 12th January,2013

Swamijee on the air, swamijee on the atmopsphere. He is on the road even. As it is his Birth day. Especially when the whole world is celebrating Swami Vivekanda’s 150th birth anniversary, the warmth can be felt here in the capital city. Today afternoon the Janpath was saffronised by such a big event. It was organised by Swami Vivekananda Sardha Sati Samaroh Samiti, Odisha.

“A monk at the age of  30, taught the whole universe what Bharat is, what it’s culture, what it’s dharma, what it’s life and above all, how it sees the rest of the world, only in 3 minutes. A young monk who inspired many in his small lifespan of only 39 years, is inspiring and will inspire for centuries to come.” Famous cardiologist and research scholar of Jagannath cult Dr. Kabi Prasad Mishra said this, while addressing as Chief speaker at  the opening ceremony of 150th birth anniversary of  Swami Vivekananda. Quoting Annie Besant, he told, “through Swamijee Hindu dharma took a new birth.” Addressing a huge gathering here at capital High school field, Dr. Mishra said, Swamijee taught the world about hinduism through Unity, Service and Brotherhood. His life is the message. His heart is for the starved, downtroden people of the country. Quoting Rabindranath Tagore, Dr. Mishra said, “If you want to know and understand Bharat, then read and know Swamijee first. He is the symbol of Bharat.”

Swami Sadananda Maharaj, Chief of Chinmoy Mission,Odisha also addressed the gathering as guest of honour. Maharaj said, on this great occassion, we should try to be or make our children like Swami Vivekananda. This will be the greatest tribute for Swamijee. He stressed upon awakening and arising of oneself.

Coln(retd.) Sarat Mohapatra presided over the meeting.
