Bandhan means celebrating the sacred bond..Raksha Bandhan, popularly known as rakhi, is a festival observed to pay deference to the sacred and unconditional bond between brothers and sisters. It’s a primordial Vedic festival which is celebrated every year on the full moon day of the month of Shravan (August). On this festival, as a custom, a sister ties a colourful rakhi, a sacred thread that symbolizes love between siblings, around her brother’s wrist.. Moreover, as a part of tradition, a brother presents his sister different gifts and swears to guide and protect her throughout the life. However, in the era of rampant consumerism, degradation of human values, relationship between brother and sister is gradually crumbling.
However, this festival is important every brother and sister.
