Thousands evacuated to safe place in Odisha


-Three people dead due to flood.
– Water level on danger signal.

Bhubaneswar, July 22: Near about 11,000 people were evacuated to safer places in odisha. Tuesday after the Baitarani River breached its embankment following heavy rain in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
Thousands of residents in Bhadrak district were shifted after heavy flooding in the area following a breach in the Sathie Bankuda river. Due to heavy flow of rain water in Kasabansa River in Balasore district Khaira and Simulia block closely comes under flood.

The Baitarani river breached its embankment at Patapura and its waters submerged homes and inundated crop fields in about 30 villages located in low-lying areas
Heavy rain over the past weeks has created havoc in 30 districts of the state, killing three people so far.
Flood waters have washed roads and disturbed public transport in many places.
The districts of Jajpur, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Balasore and Bhadrak are the worst-hit, state officials said.
The Vamsadhara river was flowing near the danger level at two places. At Kashinagar in Gajapati district, the water was flowing at 53.58 metres against a danger level of 53.60 metres at 6 a.m. Monday, officials said.At Gunpur in Rayagada district, the water was flowing at 82.17 metres against a danger level of 83 metres, he said.
