Cyclone Alert-One for South Odisha Coast
The Deep Depression over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood moved west-northwestwards, intensified into a Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’ and lay centered at 0830 hours IST today over North Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal near latitude12.30N and longitude 92.90E, about 1150 km Southeast of Gopalpur. It is now crossing Andaman & Nicobar Islands close to Long Island. Thereafter, the system would continue to move West-Northwestwards, intensified further into a Severe Cyclonic Storm during next 24 hours, subsequently into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm and cross North Andhra Pradesh & adjoining Odisha Coast between Visakhapatnam & Gopalpur by 12th October,2014 Noon.
Forecast : Rain/Thundershower would occur at one or two places over Odisha during next 24 hours.

Advice for hoisting Storm Warning Signals: Distant Cautionary signal Number ONE (DC-I) has been replaced by Distant Warning Signal Number TWO (DW-II) at Paradip and Gopalpur Ports in Odisha.
